Antioch Falcons Youth Football is a non-profit organization. Our
goal is to help every child develop a winning attitude and
help build his or her self confidence, we will teach every
child the basic fundamentals of football, the importance
of teamwork and good sportsmanship.
The
Falcon's first home game was a big
success. Crowds were heavy all day long
and the support of these kids was great.
The facilities at Ezell Harding provide an
atmosphere usually not found in youth
football.
Now down to the games. The Falcon's didn't
seem to wake up until later in the day,
and dropped several of the morning games.
Pee Wee, CC & CCC all got shut
out. The BB came in to break the streak by
saving a 4th quarter comeback by
Goodletsville. The Falcon's went up 21-0
with strong running by Mustafa Brummell
and Kewan Hall, but in the fourth a couple
fumbles led to 2 Trojan touchdowns, but
the Falcon's ran the first string D back
on the field and held on to the victory.
Next up AA had visiting Waverly Belmont
Bulldogs. Chris Claybrooks took the
opening play 60 yards to pay dirt only to
have it called back for blocking in the
back. The first score came later in the
game with a long TD pass by Julius King to
Austin Jackson. The rest of the game was a
dog fight, with the final score 15-8
Falcons.
The BBB Trojans are probably the best team
Goodlettsville fielded this year, and the
BBB Falcons are no pushover, so we knew
this would be a good one. The Falcons
scored first, and the Trojans answered
back with a score of their own. Then the
Falcons turned it over close to the
Trojans goal line. Goodletsville punched
it in to take the lead. That lead didn't
last for long as Barrion Claybrooks weaved
in and out of traffic an score a long TD.
Right before the half the Trojans were
able to score again, and go to halftime up
a TD. This is the first time in a long
while the BBB Falcons found their selves
down at the half, and they just couldn't
find a way to come back from it. The final
12-32.
The AAA Falcons took the field with a
small group as many team members were sick
or out of town, but the 13 that showed up
were ready to handle the task of playing
to their fullest with no breaks. The first
play from scrimmage featured Seth Rowland
on a long run right up the middle. Almost
the whole Trojans team put their hands on
him but couldn't seem to wrestle him down.
With an early Antioch TD, the Falcons D
took the field and play after play busted
through the Goodlettsville line like it
was cheerleaders holding up paper banners.
Once the offense took the field it was a
Seth Rowland show again, rumbling down the
field, stiff arming and spinning his way
to the score. Seth Rowland ended his day
with over 200 yards on 8 carries. After
that there was no doubt this would be a
Falcon's victory. To give them a better
chance to stop the offense the Falcon's
kept it between the tackles and didn't run
sweeps or the spread passing game. It
looks like they also kept the ball out of
Seth Rowland's hands and spread it around
a little with scores by KimLee North,
Bryson Wilkins, Jamal Hawkins, Damion
Baugus, Trent Taylor, and Coutrell Plair.
The final score was 69-0 Falcons. The
customary handshake at midfield was denied
by the Trojan coaches.
Now the lights are on, the stands are
packed, the crowd is hyped, Falcons songs
fill the stadium, and what do we have next
but the Varsity facing visiting
Clarksville. The Greyhounds brought good
support and even a fan with her own PA
system. Once the game got underway it was
clear to the Greyhounds that soaking in a
hot tub would be required after this one,
as the coaches where continuously called
to the field to help out shaken up
Greyhounds. Alex "A-Train" was
laying down collisions that could be heard
on Murfreesboro Road, and even cracked a
helmet in two. However the show stopper
tonight was big Moses "Black
Moses" Cornelius, with hard running
right down the throat of the Clarksville
Defense, mixed with the lighting speed of
"D dot" Perry. On Defense it was
another "Black Moses" show,
darting through the line and running down
the ball carrier, and sacking the QB
multiple times. The Falcons pulled out a
22-8 win and sent the fans home
happy.
Next week the Antioch Falcons will do it
again with another home game against the
Old Hickory Bulldogs. Come out and check
out Antioch Football at it's finest.
8-29-09Falcon's
Open with Style
Week
one had division games scheduled for 4 of
the 8 Falcon's teams. Most of these against
the Grassland Golden Eagles. The Falcon's
flew into the Eagle's Nest, and then soared
out with a combined score of 57-6. The AA
started the day out with a 27-0 win. Next
CCC had a defensive battle, which took a
halfback pass to break at 0-6. Then Coach
Driver's BBB took flight and took care of
business 18-0. Grassland's prized AAA team
coached by legendary Titan, Brad Hopkins,
took the field to even things up. To their surprise
the AAA Falcon's while undersized brought
more punch per pound, and left a very good
Eagles team laying in defeat. Coach Sheldon
Bray of the Falcon's AAA says, "We'll
see this team again. They are disciplined
and have sound fundamentals. Their line play
was probably the best we will see all year,
and their FB is a true smashmouth ironman,
not many would continue to go head up with
our LB all day like he did. They will win a
lot of ball games after this."
The other Falcon's teams were spread out at
different areas playing in non-division
games. The Pee Wee team took it o
Nolensville 36-6, Varsity had a dog fight
with Bordeaux 28-14, and the BB and CC came
up on the short end of the stick playing
some of the larger communities.

6-1-09New Falcons Song
The
kids loved Cecil Raw's "Who are
we?" track last year. Other teams
loved it so much a few had to go out and
get a song of their own. To make sure the
Falcons stay in a league of their own,
this year brings a brand new hit by Cecil
Raw. It is called "Take Flight".
You can find it in the new Falcon's
playlist on the home page along with other
Falcon theme songs you might hear at our
games.
4-29-092009 Registration Schedule Announced
The Falcons
registration schedule is now posted on the
schedule page.
Last years registration was sold out at
the second date for most teams. We are
currently getting alot of calls from
parents who missed last years season due
to waiting to sign-up, and they are
wanting to be "first in line this
year". We do apologize to anyone we
didn't have room for last year. We have
now added the ability to pre-register, and
not have to worry about not having a spot.
to pre-register. Pre-registration is
available to both returning and new
players. If you know anyone that is
planning on playing for the Falcons, you
had better let them know about the
registration dates, so they don't wait
around until July and not have a spot.
3-23-092009 Team Coaching Staffs Announced
The Falcons Board just completed their
March meeting, and finalized coaching
staffs for several of the teams. There is
still room for coaches that want to become
part of the Falcons organization with both
Head Coach jobs, and Assistant Coach jobs.
However you need to contact us soon,
because our Falcon's Coaching Clinics have
already begun, and they are mandatory to
coach. See our coach page for more
details.
3-1-09TYFA Announces New Divisions
The Tennessee Youth Football Alliance has
changed it's format for a two conference
alignment to a three conference alignment.
Due to the success the Falcons had last
year in the American Conference it was
decided that the Falcons should move up to
the new conference where there are large
teams to play against. The Falcons will
now be in the Central Division. This
division includes Bellevue Steelers,
Grassland Eagles, Old Hickory Bulldogs,
Goodletsville Trojans, Waverly Belmont
Bulldogs, Spring Hill Raiders and the
Hendersonville Titans.
What does this
mean to our parents and players?
The greatest effect
it will have on the Falcon's parents is
less travel. We no longer have games in
Cookeville, Gallatin, Shelbyville, or
Clarksville. This will also mean a
suitable opponent every weekend. there
shouldn't be any "pushovers" in
this schedule. This will make for exciting
football every Saturday.
3-1-09Three New Teams Join TYFA
The Madison Titans formally of the
Midstate Football League have joined TYFA.
Madison has in existence for several years
and is sure to be a valuable asset to the
league. The next team comes from White
County (outside of Cookeville), they are
the Spartans. They have been around for
some time, but are now ready to step up
the level of competition they play
against. Finally we have the Clarksville
Greyhounds, who are ready to play in TYFA.
All of these teams will start in the
American Conference this year to see how
they stack up against the current TYFA
teams. We wish all the best of luck on a
great first season.
